Scope 1
Direct emissions from sources the organization owns or controls, such as fuel combustion.
Carbon management starts by identifying where greenhouse gas emissions come from. Orion MoMixx uses that approach for its own operations and products. The same kind of assessment is also offered to customers as a separate service.
These three scopes are the categories used to organize an inventory. This page does not publish an Orion MoMixx emissions total.
Direct emissions from sources the organization owns or controls, such as fuel combustion.
Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heating, or cooling.
Other value-chain emissions, including purchased materials, transport, and waste treatment.
A product assessment follows defined lifecycle stages. For a silicone material, those stages can include the four below. Results are published only when a specific study has been completed.
01
Emissions from sourcing and producing the inputs.
02
Energy use and emissions from the production process.
03
Logistics included in the defined lifecycle.
04
Waste treatment, recovery, or recycling, when that stage is part of the study.
Energy and material losses in production are covered under Responsible Manufacturing. Recovered silicone is covered under Recycling & Circular Economy. Renewable energy for manufacturing is explored here as part of carbon management, not as a completed change of energy supply.
Energy use, activity data for greenhouse gases, and resource use are the records used to see patterns and choose what to improve. Performance figures are published when they have been verified.

A product carbon footprint has been verified in accordance with ISO 14067, and life cycle assessments have been carried out for Orion MoMixx products. Assessment for a customer’s organization or product is a separate service.

We can talk about a product footprint, environmental performance, or a silicone material. Customer assessment and our own carbon work stay separate.
