Where the work is

Energy efficiency

Curing and processing equipment is being designed to use less electricity, while the required manufacturing performance is maintained. Renewable energy for manufacturing is explored alongside those equipment changes.

Material and waste efficiency

Handling and processing are improved so less material is lost before it becomes a product. Residue left when liquid silicone is transferred is one focus. Suitable manufacturing waste is assessed for recovery.

Cleaner manufacturing processes

Different silicone coating methods can change material use, process efficiency, and emissions. Suitable coating and processing technologies are explored with those effects in mind.

Environmental management

Energy, materials, and waste are monitored against applicable environmental requirements. Operating practices are reviewed, and changes are made where they improve performance.
